Trestleboard March 2020

Chartered January 17th, 1924 A.D., 6924 A.L.

Greetings from the East,

Greeting Brothers,

February has been a great month at Eola.

A few topics of mention would be the long await repair of the secretary’s desk, the all allied and affiliated bodies meeting, and various committee meetings in preparation for our upcoming projects for the year. One further item to note in completion is the upgrade to our email infrastructure. We have rebuilt the capabilities of the old platform for email however some have occasionally reported that their spam filter has caught the addresses, this may be a carryover from the prior hosts configuration. I ask that you please check your spam folders/filters for the following email addresses and mark them as safe.

Worshipfulmaster@eola207.com and Secretary@eola207.com

Needless to say there are many things going on at Eola so come and be included, if you haven’t visited recently you have missed some very unique opportunities in the way of Masonic education and presentations.

We have had presentations from our own Bahia DeMolay chapter as well as the Orlando York Rite Bodies. By the way speaking of the DeMolay their installation took place this month and they did a phenomenal job. I encourage you all to make every effort to support this group of young men.

Our Workshop for Masonic Education at the last meeting was not only educational but very entertaining and from feedback it benefited the brothers attending that evening significantly.

We had the pleasure of hosting W.M. McMillian from Pine castle who traveled to see us, as well as a few visiting brothers from other local lodges. Additionally some of my “long lost brothers” made an appearance and I hope to see them attend more frequently. For those of you who haven’t made it to lodge for some time it would be great to see you as well, I assure you that we can accommodate extra seats to be brought in to the lodge room from elsewhere in the building !

In the upcoming month we have another packed agenda, as a reminder the calendar is up to date @ eola207.com with new dates being added as the specifics are finalized.

A few highlights on the upcoming events for March include our first degree of the year where we will be initiating four new candidates this will take place Tuesday March 10th at 7Pm, the week prior (March 3rd) of course being our first stated communication of month, however the following week (March 17th) there will not be a Stated communication as we will be hosting our first fundraiser of the year with the Adopt- a- Precinct program for the Presidential preference election.

In other recent developments our treasurer W:. Brumley has assured me that beginning in March we will have the ability to receive funds via credit/debit card. This is huge news and a request from so many of you for a very long time that is finally coming to fruition. Once this (Square) is implemented we will also have the capability to donate available on the website in the very near future. (More on this later).

Some tickets are still available for the Annual Fish Fry Fundraiser event on April 18th so please make sure to secure yours soon reach out to an officer to get yours today!

Sunday March 1st Athaliah Temple # 114 will be holding a steak dinner, later in the month is their installation, Crown Court # 33 has a school of instruction, OES #131 holds their installation as well in March and the Orlando York Rite Bodies festival rounds out the end of month. Please check the calendar for dates/times and support the Eola Masonic Family.

See you at the lodge,

Fraternally,

Br. Paul Rhoads
