Trestleboard Jul 2020

Chartered January 17th, 1924 A.D., 6924 A.L.

Greetings from the East,

Greetings brothers,

It was great to see so many of you attending our Stated Communications in June.  As many noticed we have updated and maintained the building with some new paint and fixtures and a few other things such as hand sanitizing stations.

Overall things have gone well at Eola in the month of June, we have had several inquiries from prospects wishing to join the fraternity, some of which are now to the point we will need to ballot on and investigate in the month of July. We have a few more to add to that number who will be attending this month in hopes to meet you all and start their journey as well.

Bahia DeMolay had a very successful initiation last month which several of us were able to attend, for some it was a first time event; and we were well received by the chapter, I thank you all for your attendance and encourage others to get to know the brothers of the chapter.

At our second Stated communication of the month we were unofficially visited by our newly appointed DDGM R.W. Walter “Ricky” Ricks, and District Instructor W:. Eric Romano.  I thank them both for their attendance, and highly encourage you to seek them out as they both are here to assist us as well as the district at large.

At long last there are parking signs again… (Well readable ones) adorning the parking spaces of the W.M. and Wardens spots due to a generous donation from Mr. Rick Ream one of our current petitioners.

Additional thanks to our Senior Warden Br. Rocky Ruvola for strip cleaning the refrigerator. It is to remain as such going forward and no food to be left in it (bottled water being the exception).

A special shout out to W:. Roy Campbell for fixing the seating in the lodge room which has been inoperable since early in the year as well as the other project he’s working on for the dining hall.

Our youngest EA’s are still working diligently on their work with Brother Jules and doing a fine job I’m told within a month hopefully by end of July they will be ready to give a return and move forward.

June was also host to a highly successful fundraiser for Eola as 2 Concealed Weapons classes were taught on the weekend of the 20th and 21st , for those  who were unable to attend this class please reach out to me directly at rhoads.p@gmail.com to sign up for the next one. The success of our fundraisers relies on you all so it is strongly encouraged to spread the word, sell sell sell and participate in achieving the goal by all of the above. With that said W:. Sam Glover is readily working the Adopt-A-Precinct fundraiser for the next election in August, he’s reported that we still have a few spots and could use some staffing assistance. Please reach out to him if you are willing to help your lodge in this endeavor, if we have an overabundance of volunteers he can arrange for you to help the Orange County Supervisor of Elections staff in staffing another location and we will still benefit from the funds. Many of us have our training dates already so please get with him ASAP so that you may be scheduled a training date and time for your role.

July will be a busy month we have a guest speaker coming for the first meeting on the 7th as well as business to address. There are still lots of projects to be done as well a return from a FC brother.

Come meet the new folks interested in the fraternity and visit with the ones you already know.

With summer here be mindful of the heat, keep hydrated and dry! As always be safe!

We’ll see you at lodge

Sincerely,

Br. Paul Rhoads

Greetings from the West,

Hello my Brother after the Covid lock down we have been back to work and everything has been going quite well.

June has been a great and HOT month so far, the lodge is looking fantastic and better than ever,

We have been doing a lot of things behind the scenes in order to keep this year going and to continue to be a vital our  Fraternity and in the years to come.

Also the W:. M:. and all the officers will have a date for our Fish Fry, so please stand by for that.

And even better news R:.W:.Larry Williamson will be cooking for the fish Fry, so you know the food will be fantastic. With that being said qe will need a kitchen crew to work alongside him to make this event a even bigger success.

All the  Fire extinguishers have been brought up to code so you know we’re safe lol.

If any Brother needs anything from me please never hesitate to contact me rjruvola@live.com.

Sincerely,
