Trestleboard Abril 2021

Chartered January 17th, 1924 A.D., 6924 A.L.

Greetings from the East,

Brothers,

What an outstanding month of March we had as Brothers and as a Lodge! I can’t express how happy I am to be apart of Eola.

We had the pleasure of raising 2 Brothers from Eola, 1 from Mt. Dora Lodge, and 2 from Oviedo to the sublime degree of Master Mason.  The degree team did an OUTSTANDING job and from what I hear we are the talk of the district for our degree work and how good we are at doing it. I’m getting emails, phone calls, etc. Of lodges wanting us to do courtesy work for them.

A Big THANK YOU to the past master united for doing the second section of the Master Mason Degree.

Also, we hosted Masters and Wardens,  Crown Court 33 cook for us, and we and not say Thank you enough for helping us out on this day.  It had to be one of the best breakfasts we have ever had.

And a big Thank you to RWDDGM Walter “Ricky” Ricks for coming up for your second visit, we all enjoyed it as we hope you did as well.

The Easter Community Event sponsored by Bethanne Baer Realty Group and hosted by Eola #207 was a great success and I hope we keep this relationship going throughout the years. There had to be a least over 150 people from our community there and loved how we opened up our lodge to them.

Coming up on April 17th, Eola #207 will be participating in the Paws for Peach by Harbor House at Blue Jacket Park. Hope many Brothers can make it to show support for your lodge.

Fraternally,

Greetings from the West,

My Brothers,

Receive fraternal greetings from the West. March has been a busy month for Eola, busier than February, as we expected. I had the honor of sitting in the East on March 9, 2021, for Eola’s Master Mason Degree. My goal was to achieve perfection, and while that did not happen I think Eola’s degree team provided our newly raised Master Mason they type of degree they deserved, and made Eola proud. I continue to encourage all of you to inquire about participating in our upcoming Enter Apprentice and Fellow Craft degrees, it truly is an honor and will further your understanding or our symbols and ritual. We’ve been hard at work practicing for the upcoming Entered Apprentice degree and are looking forward to additional practices.

Our brother, the Junior Warden continues his phenomenal education which has earned him well deserved accolades from our DDGM and many, many brothers. Come by, I promise you’ll leave the Lodge having learned something new!

In the month of March I was lucky to attend our district school of instruction (SOI) and open books. These were great opportunities to further my masonic knowledge, and I encourage all of you to be on the lookout and attend all upcoming SOIs.

Stay safe and healthy!

Fraternally,

Greetings from the South,

March has been an extremely busy month for Eola #207 and the Proud 16th Masonic District of Florida.

From degrees to community events, we have participated in many things that define what it means to be called a Mason. Thank you for your support.

Education

During our first meeting, we discussed how balloting can not only be a method of determining who is worthy of becoming a mason, but how it positively has the power to grant access to the ancient and honorable fraternity that we hold dearly to our hearts. Balloting is to be viewed as the means through which every Brother present has the right and privilege to decide to bestow the EA, FC, and MM degree upon a candidate; to give the gift of access to how we operate and function, as well as the rites, light, and benefits of our worshipful Lodge. The SW added operational details that go along with the practice of balloting, which was learned through the preceding school of instruction (SOI) that was held in the district in prior weeks.

During our second meeting, which also happened to be the second official visit of the RWDDGM, we discussed the heart of Freemasonry: Friendship, Morality, and Brotherly Love. As Masons, we do not come into the Lodge to learn how to make ourselves better men and keep these as secrets to ourselves. It is our responsibility to teach everyone that we encounter in our daily lives what it means to be a Mason through example.  These valuable tenets are the heart of Freemasonry and if we were to teach that this is what it means to be a Mason, the general public would have a better idea of why we give as freely as we do to charity and why when a group of Brothers meet, it is [usually] nothing but smiles and laughter.

Fellowship

For dinner on our first SC, we had lasagna and mac and cheese. The dining hall was filled with smiles and laughter. We had many visitors from across the state as well as non-masons.

On the second SC, the night before St. Patrick’s Day, we had corned-beef and cabbage, prepared by the W:. Chaplain, his wife, and the JW. Everyone was well pleased at the dinner, and compliments to the chefs were extended during open Lodge. We look forward to having you fellowship with us.

Community Involvement

The Easter Community Event sponsored by Bethanne Baer Realty Group and hosted by Eola #207 was a success. There was cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn, and an Easter Egg Hunt. The Orange County Sheriff came out with a trailer and the community was well pleased to see that they were in attendance. The community was surprised to see the Lodge as open and filled with people as it was and complimented the Lodge for putting on such a wonderful event that was designed to build morale and involvement in the community. The children were happy to ride the train and I am sure that the Crystal Lake community is looking forward to further involvement from the Lodge. A special thanks to all of the Brothers that made it possible. Thank you all for your support.

On 4/17/2021, Eola #207 will be participating in the Paws for Peach by Harbor House. Please see WM Rocky Ruvola for details.

Let me know if there is more that I can do to better serve you as JW for this year.
